Don’t ask what life is worth to you

Austerity austerity, makes no one happy
Cut back my tree, until it’s a stick
And I’m forced to shave with a rusty Bic
Laughing at this bloody stump
Please tell me why I shouldn’t jump
Praying for an eazy fix
That won’t have me out, turning tricks

Austerity austerity, makes no one happy
No more libraries, or swimming pools
No NHS or state-run schools
No one’s working, we’re all on strike
I’d choose work over human rights
Nothing good unless you’re rich
Or prepared to be some-ones bitch

Austerity austerity, makes no one happy
With every one living in a cardboard box
While the scum rises to the top
Further up is further down
Laughing as you all hit the ground
I scrape your end trails off my shoe
Go to the park and sniff some glue
Austerity austerity, won’t make you happy
