Eyes Wide Shit

Its 7am the kettle is on, and pouring it on my feet.
The pain isn’t fun, this early I’m numb,
And we all should be left to sleep.
All food has expired, while the mould explodes into life.
When the shite on the plate, becomes my new flat mate,
Happily paying all the bills.

But with Eyes wide shit,
I can fake being happy.
Still closing your eyes,
To hide from the lies,
Makes me blind to the truth.

With eyes wide shit, roses are left to die.
The Easter bunny and Santa Claus, nice but just fucking lies
Apologize for the past, for the ones who died long ago
But what about now? Who’s gonna be sorry for us,
So lets displace the Kurds, or hug a hoodie.
Who’s sorry now?

My bikes are all broke, so I run for the bus,
But I’m 5p short for a ride,
The man in the suit's not short of a buck, but can’t let the 5p slide.
Fuck the 10 commandments.
It’s time for the 7 sins to shine.
The sign of our times, to let the bad news blind.
This should be right up my street, but some how it’s not
Some how it’s shitty.

We can fake being happy.

Protesting trends with our brainwashed friends,
The middle class trendy brigade,
They line up beside the hippy/skin head divide
And all who won’t shoulder the blame.

2 million march from the eye to the park,
But we must be ignored, the weak and the poor.
Watching the world slide into war.
