Back history on run to the pills
This is a case of an over active imagination, starting with the tital,"run to the pills" is a lampoon of the classic Ironmaden song "Run to the Hills".
And that was my starting point, the opening riff and vocall melody made composing the lyrics easy.
The idea behind this came from the presumption that pills can solve all of lifes crap bits, from BMI to labedo, and self loathing, (sadly tho not self obsession)
then I got thinking what makes L.A such a great subject matter? The fucked up people.
The Version I wrote originally was -as I remember at the time- a fucking master piece, but I lost the original version But later found the Intro and bridge lyrics, and some rough shit notes for verses.
I left this alone for well over a yeay wile I lived and wrote other things, so when I finally put together a 'final' version I structured the verces as individual snap shots on Celebrity, Feeders, and gangster rap theams of violence.
Upon completion I included "Run to the Pills" in my song file, which I later lost
Fortunately I found most of the lost work on floppy disk and my own shit computer.
This was one of them. Also I was getting lyrics ready to publish, in a book, I really wanted to put this in but felt it was lacking, so I sat down with my brain ans we reworked the verces into what you are reading here, (my best attempt ot sum up life in LA having never bin there, god bless movies )
